Item purchased caught fire

I bought a meta quest 2 from the store on Potranco and Dugas. In San Antonio Texas.

Was listed for. $60 on manager Special i inquired as to why the price was so low no one could give me an answer so I bought it and took it home I plugged it in with the meta quest charger it came with.

I left the room minutes later I smelled something burning I came back to the room and saw fire coming from the charging port. Not sure what to do about this now

Selling fake and counterfeit goods

I purchased five items that were being sold as authentic Casio G-Shock watches from Cash America. I have done a lot of business with them and took their word that if they had them, they must be real, only to find out they had sold me counterfeit watches.

As soon as I realized they were fakes, I took them back, thinking they would do the right thing and refund me. Nope - not even an apology and the worst is they still had three more in the display being sold as authentic G-Shocks that were fake along with the other three I had put on layaway, all of which were fakes.

They didn't care; now I'll be having all the jewelry I have purchased from them checked! I would recommend anyone who has purchased from Cash America to do the same!

Bad experience

I went to pay on my layaway today Dec 24th & a African American female with dress & glasses signaled to me to come to the counter. I handed her my invoice & she snatched it lightly.

I did not say anything. I noticed that she was not in uniform like the other workers & the manager. She also did not have on a name tag. She was wearing a sweatshirt & jeans.

I asked her if today was a dress down day, meaning if employees were allowed to wear casual wear & not a uniform? She said "I would say no!" I again didn't say anything. I handed her $85 & said "I like to share my experience about my visit & tell how my visit was with you, but I don't see a name tag & I don't know your name. She replied with " That's ok, you don't have to know my name" I again said nothing.

She asked if I wanted to put the entire $85 on my item? I said yes. She gave me a receipt & I walked away. As I went out the door, I saw another worker who was in uniform coming in from a smoke break.

I asked her if she was the manager? She said no & pointed to the manager.

I went over & told the manager that the girl with the dreds has no name tag, but she also acted as if she did not care to address the female employee about it. I will continue paying on my item until it's fully paid, but do not have plans to visit on days that the African American girl is there, because she made me feel very uncomfortable...FYI: Her employee number is 512****

Missing parts from a pawned item

On October 3, 2024, I retrieved an Echo weed eater that I had pawned to First Cash Pawn in Robstown, Texas. Apparently, one of their employees removed the black plastic carburetor cover and filter, which were missing from my weed eater.

Monica, the manager, did replace the missing parts from two other weed eaters from the floor. However, both parts were filthy and scratched up.

I now possess a 'Frankenstein' weed eater, thanks to the employee who stole the original parts from my weed eater. This is not only unacceptable but criminal as well.

Refund

I would give a zero if I could. I took a necklace in to get a loan, as I had done previous times before.

This time, upon checking the same necklace, a CSR broke it. I was told I had to pay to pick it up at which time they would give me information to take to another place to get it fixed. However, they showed no empathy and did not seem to care that they broke any piece. Weeks later, I remembered I had a ring on layaway.

No one called to update me, which is what is supposed to happen. When I called to inquire, I was told that the ring had gone back on the sales floor because I could not be contacted at the number on file, which was an old number that I'd updated the first time in the establishment.

I was told I can't get a refund but store credit, and I told their district manager that I would never do business at that location again. The manager is a Spanish lady and has poor customer service skills.

Bad experience

African American girl snatched my receipt. I asked why she didn't have on a uniform & a name tag?

She said I didn't need to know that. I asked to speak to the manager, but the manager who is Spanish didn't seem to care because she didn't address it with the black girl. I am black & would never treat a customer like that. She is rude & very stand offish.

I am writing this review to let people know not to dare ask ole girl why she don't have on a name tag, because she is rude as *** & knows the managers won't fire her. I am just going to go to a different sales person to pay my bill. Her employee number is 512**** if anybody cares.

I see a lot of negative reviews about this location, but I guess Corporate doesn't care either. Maybe they will get enough bad reviews & be shut down.Everyone is right about them having bad Customer Service skills

Poor communication and lack of respect for customers

I called before the holidays to see when and what I needed to pay to extend and was told I had until January to pay the Baton Rouge location. So, I drove 1 hr and 34 mins to Covington to pay for the items I had there.

On January 3rd I called to see what I needed to pick up my game system and was told it was dropped but I could come purchase it. I told management Id be there and asked if he could hold it. I arrived only to be told it was sold.

I never received one courtesy call, they take the phones off the hook for hours so if you arent able to stop by its hard to get an answer.

Why would I drive 1 hour and 34 minutes away and pay my bill and not drive 10 mins from my home to pay? That makes no sense at my system may not be valuable to them but it is to me.

Taking people money

I bought a tablet for my autistic son on November 5, 2024, at the one located at 5353 North Henry Blvd., and the entire front screen came off. I took it back on November 6, 2024, and they said they couldn't do anything without a warranty, which is nonsense.

What about the 30-day law?

They are full of it. I will never buy anything again from any Cash America.

Rude manager

I went to a location also known as Mister Money in Pueblo, CO - 1006 Bonforte Blvd, Pueblo, CO 81001, United States. I purchased a firearm and gave my address for documentation.

I was assisted by a woman at first, but then a man assisted me who called me a disrespectful name. He took my card forcefully and refused to provide a number for customer support.

He yelled and insulted me after I repeatedly asked for a customer service number. I urgently need someone to contact me regarding this matter.

He came around the corner and was threating me with the cops and calling me a stupid *** The lady that was there at first was great but he has some issues that he needs to check. Then some other girl that worked there stood up and was telling me to leave because I cussed back at him but he started the name calling and fowl language. This is not okay.

Problem

We had a gun on layaway and we finished paying 700 for the gun, but we answered a question incorrectly on the background survey. As a result, they said we couldn't have the gun and they wouldn't give us the money back!

Instead, they would only give us store credit, and we wouldn't even get all of that 700 back. We would only receive about 350 in credit. I think it's a rip-off!

At least give us the full credit. Why would they make us pay all of it and then lose all the money because the survey indicates we didn't answer everything correctly?

They took my laway money

They took my money that I paid towards my layaway,,,and the remaining money they gave me store credit after I invested more than 400 into it saying I forfeit again after I paid 80 dollars for a forfeit before I also called in to give them my new number and they failed to log it in so there for no call to me

DrI went to pay my layaways and days later before my next payment my class ring was dropped for no reason. The manager offered me 150.

I cannot go and pay on pawn due to storm

Yes, I have a pawn due today and I actually almost forgot until I received a text saying your pawn is due in two days. Well, Hurricane Helene just left us without power for a week.

Power was just turned on the 4th of October. The power went out on September 27 and I called from someone else's phone to explain my situation that I cannot make it for payment as there are trees down and roads closed. The house is crushed along with cars and so on. The worker at Cash America said you have until today to pay the balance and they will put my items on the floor for sale.

There should be something done with this company. They have no grief or care in the world.

Is there anything I can do or anyone to call so I won't lose my items? Thanks.
